Royal Palms Engagement Session – Elise & Reed

If you spend any time with me, you know two things…I love names and I love New York. I sometimes refer to myself as a name-ologist, even though I hate to admit that my husband, Jefe, chose the name for both of our girls, Olive and Lucy. I am always offering my namesake to pregnant couples who are looking to name their daughters. So, you can imagine how excited I was to meet Elise, my only name-twinsy bride to date.

And as an added bonus, Elise & Reed are New Yorkers! I could write a book about how magical New York is, but don’t worry, I’ll just mention my most favorite things. I love the aroma of homemade cookies that feels the Levain Bakery; the line that goes around the block, by the way, is totally worth the wait. I love being one of the lucky few who get to sit shoulder to shoulder with people who want to let loose and laugh at The Comedy Cellar. Last time we were there, Ray Romano made a surprise visit and tried out new material. I love people watching in Central Park. I love walking the streets, shuffling between the hostel and bustle. Celebrity spotting. Window shopping. Deli hopping. As you can see, I LOVE NEW YORK!

Did I mention that I am also a obsessed with dogs?! I was beyond ecstatic when Elise and Reed brought their puppy, Murphy, along for their engagement shoot. We chose the Royal Palms Resort because of its unique architecture, gorgeous light, greens galore, and the stunning back drops. Elise and Reeds outfits complemented the Royal Palms look and feel. I love the soft pop of pink and the white dress with the stunning black heels, and Reeds classic suit and tie.

Looking at these pictures makes me so excited to shoot their wedding at El Chorro! I love working with the wonderful Kayla from Some Like It Classic and Tamara from Inspired Environments. I cannot wait to see the details her team whips up for her exciting day.
